However bored, lonely, and anxious Darkness plots to change this. We begin on the note that darkness has migrated to an underground lair due to the power of light through out the surface world. There is a charm to this movie that no amount of bad acting from the bit parts is going to take away. The film is bathed in beautiful scenery and elegant set decor that simply feels like you’re in the right place. And now, whether you like it or not, you are lost in it. You have stumbled onto a tragic story, Phillipe Gaston. In the process, Clutch asks Heather out to go bowling, so the twins decide to trade places so Erica can attend the date instead. For it is a tragic love and this is what lends it such weight and what allows it to anchor the film. Summary: Erica develops a crush on Clutch and asks Heather to find out his birth sign to see if theyre compatible. terrible, and some of the delivery from the side characters is worse, but I don't care. She's vulnerable, but strong and does rather bewildered alien very well. He's the hero through and through and the way he reacts to Mary's revelations is perfect. He's not complicated and drops his whole back story in one conversation, but the way Spader plays him just makes him so likeable. Basically he's an all American guy willing to help the girl on the run in the name of freedom, or possibly because he fancies her, or both. Turns out his intense stare is because he has incredibly bad eye sight and can't wear contacts. He has played a lot of bad guys in his time, but I first saw him as a good guy and I've always thought he was very easy on the eyes. In theaters.I am a big James Spader fan and have been for many, many years. Too few queer characters, who are often saddled with tragedy, are so capable of moving on. Toward the end of the film, reflecting on his time with David, Alexis realizes how he has become a character in a fantastic story - a story full of intrigue and drama, yes, but also one that is light and joyous. romances that deploy retrograde views on homosexuality as a convenient tool for conflict, “Summer of 85” uses its vibrant throwback aesthetic to situate two gay men in a cultural fantasy typically reserved for straight couples: the date at the carnival that ends in a fistfight with an embittered “ex,” the star-crossed lovers who sneak around and make morbid, lifelong pacts. Scenes become increasingly bonkers as the film hurdles toward tragedy.
